African Woman with Infant

Different Faces of Women Around the World

The “I Am” Exercise

Here’s mine. I’m hoping you will try it too.

Who are you, my readers? Use this to help you clarify, or to make some self-discoveries. I don’t know whose exercise this was originally. I have modified it somewhat though.

I am ____________ Child of my Creator, Citizen of the World, Woman, Mom,  Wife,  Grandmother,  Poet,  Coach,  Unique   (Happy International Woman’s Day, Friends!)

I am ___________ A Creative Survivor

My age means____________       Rebellious Baby Boomer

My problem now is__________    How to reach more people who can benefit from my services & do it with consistent integrity and compassion

I wonder ________  How I can help those who need my help and still make money when I need to

I hear____________People suffering and crying through life

I see___________Light at the end of many tunnels

I want_________   to truly help people and be inspired by them too

I am__________  A Creative Survivor

If only___________   People could suffer less and have more joy and peace

I pretend_________  Until I believe & my belief becomes my reality

I feel___________   But sometimes I feel too much and get sad

I am touched by_________Human suffering and injustice, and when life inspires me to write about it

I worry about________My family, or not being able to continue to make a difference in my next decades, but I know action gets somewhere and worry doesn’t

I cry_______ Remembering all of those I have lost

I understand_______That no matter what our pain or problem, we can still feel joy and be successful in life.  The circle of life will continue and there is good as well as bad

I think that______There are many ways I can let people know this

I am_____A Creative Survivor

I sometimes fear_______   That I will keep on spinning my wheels, but I know it is only a fear, and not rational as long as I don’t give up on what’s important to me

I am passionate about______Wanting to make a difference in lives, making people feel better, changing hurting into healing.  There is too much pain in the world

I dream______That I will find more ways to make my work known and to help more people

I try______To be visible and vocal, even though I am by nature an introvert

I hope_______My efforts will continue to pay off, but I must keep being who I am

I get angry about_______  people who just give up and don’t try to change anything, and cruelty, racism, and  the injustices around the world infuriate me

I lose hope when_______ I am not heard or noticed, personally and professionally, and when I sometimes feel I am spinning my wheels

I am held back when_____            I pull in and retreat because I get overwhelmed or discouraged

I succeed when______I show my unconditional love and concern, and don’t hold back out of self-protection and fear

My goal is_______ To reach and work with more clients and to write more, to relax more with loved ones

I am______ A Creative and Strong Survivor
