     So, what’s going on with you today, dear reader, as we close 2009 and dream of juicy new opportunities and improvement to our lives in the New Year? 

      Do you think the basic beliefs you claim to hold are really what guide your choices and behavior?    Are your important values firmly secured in your heart and mind, so that they will not blow away in the winds  of change and temptations that challenge you to your core?  Do enticements of the material world shake your beliefs and cause you and them to hesitate,wobble, or perhaps to fall? 

      It could be that a quiet day (or more)  of rest and contemplation are in order.  Socializing till the wee hours, reconnecting with old friends, or exchanging anecdotes with new friends is fun.  I am all for fun, but you might just be the most important person with whom you need to be reconnecting. 

       2010 is upon us, ready to pounce and take us into the future in a matter of hours.   At the risk of having you click your mouse and cyber trot away to a new site,  I have a request of you.

     Please consider doing less partying and more self-examination as you begin not only a new year, but a fresh, clean, sparkling and  unspoiled decade, that is full of unexplored possibilities.    Take some time very soon to examine whether or not you are who you claim to be or who you want to be.  Why not do less scotch sipping and more soul searching tonight and tomorrow?  Commit to less buffet grazing and more navel gazing.   Do more wondering and weighing up than occupying your time  with things that,in the end, are more likely to  weigh you down than to to make you buoyant and to take you to a new and more satisfying level of living.   Figure out sooner, rather than later, if how you conduct yourself in the world is in alignment with your true and most dearly held values.

     With those thoughts, I leave you, wishing you more self-knowledge, joy, passion and wonder than you have dared to wish for yourself in the past.  I think it’s out there for you, waiting to be uncovered.
