Experiment
The #blogbits I hope to do for the next little while may surprise some of you, since I am not known for my #brevity. I do so love words, but then, I was a poet long before I was pretty much anything else!
“The secret of a good sermon is to have a good beginning and a good ending; and to have the two as close together as possible.”― George Burns
(This isn’t a sermon, of course, but you get the picture!)
It is my ambition to say in ten sentences what others say in a whole book. –Friedrich Nietzsche
I’m not deluded or pompous enough to think I can impart magnificent pearls of wisdom in ten sentences, but time is of the essence in today’s world. My life is no exception. You will find more than ten sentences, but I am going to experiment with some shorter blogbits for a time. Maybe these will appeal to more of you who are also busy.
You haven’t noticed many new posts here because there haven’t been any lately. I have been busy with promotion of my poetry collection published this year, which has included readings and book signings. (“Blooming Beyond Brooklyn-Poems of Roots, Sorrows & Blessings) Of course, my coaching work and trying to write regularly also takes up time, as does life in general.
Your Opinions
Then too, we get all-too-accustomed to the immediate feedback we tend to get on social media. Sometimes writing for this blog has felt a bit like talking to myself. So if you like what I have to say, please let me hear from you. Do comment and share when you can.
What do you think? Will you give it a try? Let me know if you like shorter posts.
Hugs,
Iris
