When I sit with dying people, Death must think of me as a friend, invited so many times into my noisy life not for scones and tea but to snack on tears and tender memories plucked from tins I keep ... Read More
Poetry Sampling by Iris J. Arenson-Fuller
In this section, you fill find some audio and print samples of my poetry.
I am a Certified Professional Life Coach, specializing in loss, tough life stage changes and adoption issues. I have written different types of prose and poetry almost my entire life.
As a teen and young woman, I was published in various anthologies and magazines. Then the role of motherhood, directing the adoption agency I founded, and care giving for various relatives, caused me to take a detour, until the last couple of years. I never stopped writing. More recently, I have been published in a variety of on line and print publications. I also do poetry readings.
I have been honored to have been the recipient of several prizes and awards over the years. The most meaningful and memorable for me, by far, was the award presented to me as a young woman, by the esteemed Mr. Langston Hughes.
Now that I have entered a brand-new decade of life, I hope to have a book or two in my future, and to continue submitting my writing to various on line and print publications.
Many editors and publishers do not want to consider work that has been previously published, even on personal blogs, so with regret, I will not be sharing a lot of new poetry here. If you like my work and want to see some more, do contact me.
Naturally, Editors and Publishers are always welcome to contact me and to ask.
