Life & Grief Coaching Reviews
I have a huge heart, but it is accompanied by some very practical, solution-oriented skills. I am also highly accessible to my coaching clients. I care a lot, and know that people who are suffering, and those who truly want to make important changes, need a great deal of support.
I’ve heard from clients that I am “wise”, due to my broad life experience, but also pretty cool for “someone my age”. I don’t really know about either of those labels, to be truthful. I know I have learned many important lessons on my life journey.
Believe me, I know how the tides of life can turn in a moment. I understand how everything you relied on, and expected would be permanent, can shift underneath your feet, or even disappear and can leave you stumbling and afraid. I have been forced to reinvent my own life and career several times over. This provided more education than my actual education, in many ways.
I know how hard it is to let go of dreams you have had your whole life, and to find new ones. It may even be hard to let go of the past. You may feel you are somehow dishonoring or abandoning your lost love one, your hopes, or a past relationship. Have you ever felt like this? It’s scary, but you can do it.
My Background
I have combined skills from my background in psychology, sociology and the arts, as well as life credentials earned through young widowhood, raising a multicultural family, deaths of many family and friends, and founding and operating a non-profit adoption agency for thirty years. I have raised four kids to adulthood and am a grandmother of two.
My experience in running two businesses, (one for three decades) has taught me important, human resource management and marketing skills that enhance my personal strengths and ability to help a variety of people.
I have spent years as a caregiver familiar with chronic illness, as well as dementia. I am an expert at hanging on, hanging in and starting over!
I have decades of experience in the helping professions (I used a coaching approach with adoptive families long before anyone used those words to describe it).
All of my personal journeys have taught me to be strong and versatile, and these have turned out to be invaluable tools for me to use in my coaching practice.
I am also a writer/poet, who has won a variety of prizes and awards throughout my life.
These things, plus my training as a life coach, (an intensive training program through the International Coach Academy and further, ongoing training with various coaching mentors and experts) have given me an impressive arsenal of creative, though highly practical techniques that have worked for me and for my clients.

I’m a Survivor
I know what it’s like to have to make some terribly hard choices. I know that sometimes we are given second chances.
It’s our job to make the most of them, and to do our best to take control of those things we DO have control over.
I am a survivor and I bet you are too, though you may not recognize it. You may not know how to access the best parts of yourself, and the skills and strengths that will help you through tough times, and turn them into something positive.
That’s where I come in and how working with me as your life coach can help you.
